Postecolgou says that the 27-year-old will make his first appearance of the season against Fulham.

Ange Postecoglou has said that Giovani Lo Celso will start against Fulham tomorrow evening but refused to confirm whether the midfielder will be staying at the club.

Lo Celso made his first competitive appearance for Tottenham in nearly two years in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Bournemouth, and the midfielder later turned to social media to express his happiness at being able to pull on the Spurs shirt again.

Meanwhile, Cristian Romero, a close friend and compatriot, stated last week in an interview with The Evening Standard that the midfielder wants to stay in North London and make an impact this season.

Despite this, there is still a lot of conjecture over the 27-year-old’s future, with Barcelona (Javi Miguel), Real Betis (Rudy Galetti), and Napoli (Il Mattino) all rumoured to be interested.

On Saturday, Postecoglou stated that Lo Celso was unlucky not to have received more playing time this season (Football.London).

Lo Celso will start vs Fulham in the Carabao Cup

When asked about such remarks and whether the player will remain at the club, the Australian responded diplomatically, but he did reveal that the midfielder will start the Carabao Cup match at Craven Cottage.

“As I said yesterday, he’s been a bit unlucky,” Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said of Lo Celso. He played well for us when he came on. When he came on for us, I thought all of the subs did well. I thought all of the subs did a great job just helping us manage the game.

“We have a game Tuesday night, and he will play.” It will be an entertaining week, for lack of a better phrase. We certainly have a lot going on. I’m only concerned with what’s in front of me. Unless I’m informed otherwise, I’ll work with the people I have and concentrate on Tuesday night.”

I’m interested to watch how Lo Celso, Hojberjg, Perisic, Solomon, and Emerson do against Fulham because they all have a chance to show the manager what they’re capable of and establish a claim for a starting spot against Burnley.
