Mauricio Pochettino provides Chelsea transfer update before the deadline.

Mauricio Pochettino has updated Chelsea’s transfer plans as the deadline approaches on Friday night.

The Blues, who have already spent approximately £350 million on incomings this summer, are expected to bring in another attacker before the window closes, according to football.london. Pochettino, on the other hand, is less concerned with what the club is doing behind the scenes and more concerned about his team’s Carabao Cup second round clash against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday evening.

“I’m not sure. To be honest, we’ve been so focused on trying to recover the players and the game we’re going to play tomorrow in the last few days,” Pochettino told reporters when asked if the club is aiming to bring in a right winger before the transfer window ends.

“I know the club is working very hard to try and finish our business in a few days, so I believe that will happen.” We are currently working to deliver what we desire, but there is nothing to communicate at this time.”

Chelsea is looking to add another attacking option before the deadline on Friday. The team is searching for flexible individuals who can play on the right wing as well as in the No.10 position behind the striker.

Brennan Johnson was a target, but the club has since cooled their interest in the Wales international, who is valued at £50 million by Nottingham Forest. Rayan Cherki and Bradley Barcola are also on the club’s radar, though a move for the latter is improbable given Paris Saint-Germain’s interest.

Chelsea is also looking to offload some players before the window closes, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-Odoi rumoured to be on their way out. Pochettino refused to go into too much information about specific players’ situations, even admitting that he is unaware of what is going on behind the scenes. When asked if there will be more departures than arrivals, Pochettino said, “I am not involved in those situations.” I’m concentrating on the team. The club is collaborating with the player, but I am not involved in that scenario. Nothing has changed at the moment, no one has indicated that this problem is over, and the club will certainly communicate to you when something is done, but nothing at the moment.”

Pochettino was also questioned about the futures of Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah at Chelsea. Manchester United is interested in Cucurella since both of their left-back options, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, are injured. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is interested in Chalobah, with former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel eager for a reunion.

“I cannot talk about rumours, I cannot talk about rumours,” Pochettino said, coyly. “For the time being, nothing has changed. He is expected to be available to play tomorrow. We are open to hearing what fans desire, but this is a 50/50 scenario between the player and the organization.”
