Dire Diego Moreira was pulled off at halftime and may not play for Chelsea again.

One of the more unexpected selections in Chelsea’s team today was Diego Moreira, the not-very-highly rated prospect purchased from Benfica in the summer.

He struggled in the first half against Wimbledon and became the fall guy as Mauricio Pochettino attempted to shake things up and implement a new system. On Chelsea’s game coverage, Jason Cundy couldn’t stop slamming him and labelling his decision-making “dreadful.” Dire Diego Moreira was pulled off at halftime and may not play for Chelsea again.

At halftime, he was pulled off, and Chelsea appears to have switched to a back three. Noni Madueke and Marc Cucurella will play wing back, while Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, and Bashir Humphreys will play central defence.

Fans at Stamford Bridge applauded when it was announced that he would be replaced. We’re curious when the next time we’ll see him play for us will be. Given that we’re set to add another attacking midfielder and have Christopher Nkunku returning in a couple of months, as well as the lack of European football, it’s probable that the Portuguese will never play in the first team again.
