Fulham have signed Swansea City keeper Steven Benda.

Fulham have signed Swansea City keeper Steven Benda for an unknown amount.
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the possibility of extending it for another year.

Benda is Fulham’s second acquisition of the week, following Timothy Castagne, and their fifth of the summer, joining Calvin Bassey, Raul Jimenez, and Adama Traore.

However, the keeper’s debut at Craven Cottage will have to wait as he recovers from an injury.

“I’m overjoyed. “I’m really happy to be here because it’s a huge club with a lot of history and tradition,” he said on the club’s official website.

“Just look at this stadium and the club itself; playing for Marco Silva was a no-brainer.”

“I’m delighted to welcome Steven Benda to Fulham,” said vice-chairman Tony Khan.

“He’s a talented young keeper, and while he’s currently out with an injury, we’ve been watching him for a while and believe he’ll be a valuable addition to Marco’s squad when he returns.”

Benda had established himself as Swansea’s first-choice keeper before sustaining a catastrophic knee injury in January.

The shot-stopper is anticipated to miss the majority of the rest of the season.

Tony Khan, Fulham’s director of football operations, stated, “He is a talented young keeper, and while he’s currently recovering from injury, we’ve monitored him for some time and believe that he will be a valuable addition to Marco’s squad upon his return.”
