Man City and Wolves have reached a verbal agreement for the signing Matheus Nunes

There is no formal agreement yet, and discussions remain ongoing.

Nunes, who has a contract with Wolves until 2027 with the possibility of an additional year, has not been attending training in an attempt to force a move to the triple winners after their first proposal was rejected last week.

Last summer, Wolves paid Sporting Lisbon a club record £42 million to sign the Portugal international.

Tommy Doyle will join Wolves on loan for the time being, with a £4.3 million (€5 million) option and a large sell-on clause.

The agreements are different, but Doyle’s intervention has aided negotiations.

Chelsea inquire over signing City’s Palmer

Chelsea have made an inquiry into signing Cole Palmer from City.

Chelsea has made contact with Manchester City about signing Cole Palmer.

Although the move is still in its early stages, City is aware of the interest following an initial approach.

Pep Guardiola stated this summer that a loan move away from the club would be unsuitable for the player, hence a permanent deal is more likely.

Palmer started the Premier League opener against Burnley and sat out the next two games.
