Premier League champions Manchester City have rejected an opening bid from Chelsea for Cole Palmer.

Chelsea’s interest in the England under-21 international first surfaced on Wednesday morning, when it was stated that Chelsea had designated Palmer as their top target for the remainder of the transfer window.

Palmer is presently contemplating his options and has sparked interest from clubs across the Premier League and Europe, including Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United, and Borussia Dortmund.

However, Manchester City are said to be expecting a high transfer fee for one of their star academy graduates, and they are said to be uninterested in a loan move for the current season.

Now, according to Jacob Steinberg’s intelligence, Chelsea’s £35 million bid for Cole Palmer has been rejected by Manchester City. Manchester City has REJECTED Chelsea’s opening proposal for Cole Palmer.Cole Palmer

Chelsea’s pursuit of Cole Palmer is thought to be pushed by Joe Shields, their co-director of recruitment and talent, who formerly worked with Manchester City’s academy.

Shields was also at the centre of a significant recruitment campaign at Southampton before to his move to Stamford Bridge, during a summer transfer window in which all of Romeo Lavia, Juan Larios, Gazunu, and Samuel Edozie moved to the south coast.

In other news, Manchester City are closing in on a deal for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes, with sources from France claiming that the Treble champions have had a bid approved for the midfielder, with one of their current squad members potentially going the other way on loan in a separate deal.
