The Red Devils want to sign Amrabat before the transfer market ends on Friday night, but they are unable to reach an agreement with Fiorentina. The Serie A club has already turned down a loan deal from Manchester United for the 27-year-old Moroccan international.

Erik ten Hag was compelled to make an unwelcome deadline day transfer in order to secure the top target.

Fulham, like Manchester United, is looking for a new centre midfielder since Bayern Munich is interested in signing their present star, Joao Palhinha. The Londoners have identified Amrabat as a possible replacement for Palhinha and are in negotiations with Fiorentina.

Fulham are also interested in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, another target for United on deadline day. Ten Hag may have to transfer McTominay to their opponents to prevent them from swooping for Amrabat, despite his desire to keep the Scotland international.

According to multiple Italian media sources, Fulham is pursuing Amrabat and is in talks with Fiorentina about a €30 million (£25.7 million) transfer. The head of the Italian club, Rocco Commisso, has stated that United are not the only team interested in Amrabat.

“There are other clubs for Amrabat, too,” Commisso told reporters before of the deadline. “I can’t answer right now because I don’t know what will happen tomorrow.” We informed Amrabat that if he had a chance to go, we will allow him.

“If this deal falls through, he has two years left on his contract and will stay.” Many conversations are now underway. I’m not going to mention names. So wait 24 hours and you’ll find out what happens.”

Fulham are also interested in Amrabat

Fulham’s interest in Amrabat may be cooled by selling McTominay to them. The 26-year-old has only appeared in seven Premier League games this season and might conclude a deadline-day switch in search of more regular first-team involvement.

Fulham are said to have inquired about McTominay’s availability. The Red Devils turned down a £30 million bid from West Ham for McTominay earlier this summer, but they may accept a similar bid from Fulham if the money can be used to acquire Amrabat.

United are having difficulty funding a move for Amrabat. They are attempting to create a contract with Fiorentina that is Financial Fair Play (FFP) compliant. The Italians are willing to allow the midfielder go on loan, but only if the loan includes a purchase obligation.

Ten Hag would prefer to maintain McTominay, a homegrown player, because he doesn’t have many options in midfield. Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo are both out with injuries, although Donny van de Beek might make a last-minute transfer.
