Chelsea was defeated 1-0 by Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge. The new look team, the new look management, it’s all turned out to be precisely what we saw last season.
We could tell from the start that it was going to be one of those days – one of those days we’d seen time and time again. We ran out of steam after some promising early play in which we controlled the game and handed the initiative to Forest. As we witnessed in our loss to West Ham a few weeks ago, the aggressive substitutions we made simply destroyed our rhythm.

You cannot spend your way to success, as we have repeatedly demonstrated. Of course, we’ll hear more about how these players need some time to adjust and gel, but even then, it’ll be the same tale we’ve heard for the past 12 months or so.
