On deadline day, the league made a record bid of £150 million for Salah, with the intention of signing him to Al Ittihad.

Among the players that have previously signed for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Fabinho, but Salah would undoubtedly be the most high-profile acquisition of them.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool promptly rejected the offer, but the Saudi Pro League is planning to return to the bargaining table with a proposal worth up to £200 million.

 

Salah netted his second Premier League goal of the season in the Reds’ 3-0 triumph over Aston Villa at Anfield.

Szoboszlai had earlier given Liverpool  the lead with a fantastic long-range shot, his first for the club, and was queried about the Egyptian winger’s future after the game.

The Hungarian went on to clarify what Salah had told him and his Liverpool teammates regarding a possible move away from Anfield.

“We speak between each other… he wants to stay here, he wants to be here, he wants to stay with us,” he stated (via Fabrizio Romano).

 

“In the end, he stayed, which is fantastic news. He’s a great player.”
