Erik ten Hag claims VAR made THREE errors during Manchester United’s defeat to Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag was enraged by THREE decisions that went against Manchester United as they succumbed late in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal.
In the 96th and 100th minutes, Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus scored to give the Gunners all three points in North London. Marcus Rashford put Manchester United ahead in the first half, only for Martin Odegaard to equalize 35 seconds later.
In the 88th minute, replacement Alejandro Garnacho sprinted clear and coolly tucked into the bottom corner, giving United the lead. However, after the away team’s and fans’ wild celebrations, VAR stepped in to deem the Argentine youngster offside.
United’s Dutch manager was enraged by the verdict and argued that the technology was WRONG. In an interview with Sky Sports, he claimed, “It’s not offside.” [It’s the] incorrect angle.”
When asked about his statements and whether offside is a black and white issue that either exists or does not exist, Ten Hag responded, “It is, so we have to accept it.” But I’ve seen the perspective. “I don’t think it’s offensive.”

Ten Hag also insisted that, with the game tied at 1-1, United should have been awarded a penalty for a foul on £72million new boy Rasmus Hojlund, who was sent sprawling to the floor by Arsenal defender Gabriel.
And he was enraged by the game’s defining moment, Rice’s 96th-minute winner, on which the United manager thought the referees made another error, with Gabriel appearing to stop Jonny Evans in the penalty area.
“It’s a penalty on Hojlund,” Ten Hag shouted. “At the end, we concede a goal on a foul on Jonny Evans.” It’s very obvious and straightforward.”
Despite the setback, United’s manager was pleased with his team’s performance.
“I believe the performance is appropriate.” “I believe we played an excellent game,” he continued. “However, everything conspired against us. You could win the game with a little more luck.
“OK, we can tell you to finish your chances, don’t concede a goal after going up 1-0, that’s all true, but I think we took a step forward with the performance.”
“I think on the ball we were calm and I also of course see room for improvement. I see the moment where we can go forward. We missed some passes that could have hurt them more. But all over, I’m happy with the performance. As I said, I see a good pattern, I see the trend line going up.
“It was small margins today. When Garna is finishing and it’s a goal, we’re winning this game.”
