Reiss Nelson has been named Premier League Castrol Game Changer of the Season for 2022/23.

Nelson became the latest winner of the prized accolade after scoring a remarkable 97th-minute goal against Bournemouth during Arsenal’s title challenge.

On March 4, the Gunners completed a remarkable and thoroughly dramatic comeback against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, coming from two goals down to eventually win thanks to Nelson, whose arrowed effort from the left side of the box flew straight into the far top corner, sending Arsenal fans into raptures.

Nelson commented after scoring the legendary goal, “It’s amazing.”I took a look at the ball when it was passed to me. When it went in, everyone went insane.

“This is an exciting time for me. I’ve lived here my entire life, and it means a lot to me. I’m just content. “I’m overjoyed.”

The goal kept Arsenal on pace to dethrone Manchester City atop the Premier League, and while that didn’t happen, it did offer fans at the Emirates Stadium with one of the best moments in recent memory.

“It was probably the loudest and most emotional moment we’ve shared,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said after Nelson’s goal. “The journey that we’ve been on together, and how the supporters and team are together, adding the important moment we had today, it was very special.”

Nelson has since signed a new four-year contract at his boyhood club, with Arsenal fans hoping the 23-year-old can provide similarly remarkable moments in the coming seasons.
