Following the wrong made by referee between Arsenal vs Manchester United match, the Premier League makes a significant VAR decision.

Fans will finally be able to hear how VAR and match officials come to a decision during Premier League matches on Wednesday night

For the first time this season, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham fans, as well as viewers from across the world, will be able to hear how referees make judgments during Premier League matches. Following many contentious calls made over the weekend, the decision to eventually broadcast audio from discussions between the VAR and on-field officials was made.

One of the significant judgments that has stirred debate was Alejandro Garnacho’s ‘goal’ for Manchester United versus Arsenal, which was ultimately assessed to be offside and so ruled out. Erik ten Hag launched an attack on VAR after the game, which saw the Gunners waltz away won thanks to two late goals in stoppage time. He listed multiple decisions that he felt were erroneous.

Now, the Red Devils’ manager, as well as everyone else, will get the opportunity to hear why VAR and the on-field referees opted to rule out Garnacho’s strike – as well as every other contentious call made over the weekend. According to ESPN, , an edition of ‘Match Officials: Mic’d Up’ will show on Sky Sports on Wednesday, September 6 at 8 p.m.

The show, which will also include Michael Owen as a guest, will air on TNT Sports at 8:30 p.m. The decision was made following a successful trial in May, during which Howard Webb, the chief refereeing officer, explained different calls made by the match official and those at Stockley Park.

While supporters will be interested in hearing how the ‘right’ judgments were made, they will also be interested in hearing VAR recordings when the ‘incorrect’ choices are made. Webb, for example, admitted earlier this season that officials have made huge mistakes, such as failing to award Wolves an injury-time penalty at Old Trafford on the opening weekend.

However, despite this, it remains to be seen whether any audio from conversations which led to ‘incorrect’ decisions will be included in the review show. It also remains to be seen what incidents will be included in the programme on Wednesday night.
