Saka has been named England’s Men’s Player of the Year for the second time.
Saka received overwhelming support from fans who voted him as the standout player of the 2022-23 season
According to the English Football Association’s statement on Tuesday, Arsenal’s outstanding forward Bukayo Saka has won the title of England Men’s Player of the Year for the second time.
Saka, 22, gained tremendous support from fans who voted him the 2022-23 season’s standout player, his second straight win. In recognition of his outstanding performance, he placed second and third behind competitors Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane.
Saka has had a huge effect on the national squad during the last year, scoring seven goals in 10 appearances for England. Among his many accomplishments was his outstanding performance at the 2022 World Cup, in which he scored three critical goals. His performance as England’s player of the match against Iran in Qatar was particularly remarkable.
In addition, Saka was named player of the match in England’s victories over Ukraine at Wembley Stadium and North Macedonia at Old Trafford, where he scored his first professional hat-trick.
Saka has been named England’s Men’s Player of the Year for the second time.
Saka was surprised with the news of this prestigious accolade at England’s training camp, St. George’s Park, on the occasion of his 22nd birthday. Saka was recently named the PFA Young Player of the Season and was included to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
Saka, who has 28 senior caps, is now preparing for England’s forthcoming UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier against Ukraine in Wroclaw, as well as the 150th Anniversary Heritage Match against Scotland in Glasgow.
The FA has also revealed that the announcement of the 2022-23 England Women’s Player of the Year, sponsored by EE, is scheduled for later this month, building excitement for another prestigious recognition in English football.
