Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, as well as Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, Manchester United’s Andre Onana, and Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez, are all on the shortlist.

Those nominated will be vying to become only the third Premier League player to win the accolade, following Michael Owen of Liverpool in 2001 and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United in 2008.

Ramsdale and Ederson also recognised

Along with two other Premier League players, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale and Manchester City’s Ederson, Onana and Martinez are competing for the coveted Yashin Trophy, which is presented to the finest keeper.

The winners will be announced during a ceremony on October 30 at Paris’s Theatre du Chatelet.
