ARSENAL RECEIVES A £3M FEE FOR THE SALE OF NICOLAS PÉPÉ TO TRABZONSPOR

As the Turkish summer transfer window closed, ex-Lille and Angers attacker Nicolas Pépé completed a move from Premier League side Arsenal to Süper Lig outfit Trabzonspor.

Pépé struggled to establish himself in the English Premier League after joining Arsenal from Ligue 1 outfit Lille OSC in 2019 for a then-club-record cost of £72 million.

He departs Arsenal after making 80 appearances and scoring 16 goals. Pépé was designated as surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta when the young coach joined from Manchester City, despite being considered as a vital element for the future by Unai Emery and Raul Sanllehi when the Spanish duo were still at the club as Head Coach and Head of Football, respectively.

This was as a result of both his playing style and inconsistent performances.

Pépé spent last season on loan with OGC Nice in France’s first division, making 19 appearances and scoring six goals.

According to sources contacted by Get French Football News, Arsenal will get £3 million from Trabzonspor as a transfer fee for a player whose contract was set to expire in June 2024.
