Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea in a £65 million deal in a stunning summer move. Many wondered how the talented midfielder would adjust to his new surroundings, especially given his modest 19 Premier League goals in three seasons at Chelsea.
Arsenal has changed its shape to accomodate Havertz, who has yet to score for Mikel Arteta‘s club. The weight of the price tag and the high expectations are putting a strain on him. Havertz’s inclusion in the squad is still being scrutinized.
Havertz’s stint at Chelsea was characterised by glimpses of brilliance, but consistency eluded him. “Sure, things like that keep you busy,” he added.
‘But I’ve often had a phase, and you typically only notice the negative. It’s not the first time I’ve had to start over at a club.
‘Of course, you want to succeed as soon as possible, but I know there are times like that. I try to approach it in a laid-back manner.’
Perhaps if the fans didn’t place so much pressure on him, he’d be able to relax a little more and stop trying so hard?
