Arsene Wenger is largely recognized as one of Arsenal’s finest managers, and many fans became followers of the club as a result of its success under his leadership.
During his career, Wenger was instrumental in developing some of the top players in European football, all while operating in an era when Arsenal was recognized for fostering emerging talents rather than investing significantly on established stars.
However, as Mundo Deportivo highlighted, a big chance was wasted during Wenger’s tenure as manager. Fede Valverde, a Real Madrid midfielder, was on trial at Arsenal in 2016, however he failed to satisfy the French manager and the club’s staff.
Valverde later went to join Real Madrid, where he rose to become one of the world’s best players in the years that followed.
