However, as Mundo Deportivo highlighted, a big chance was wasted during Wenger’s tenure as manager. Fede Valverde, a Real Madrid midfielder, was on trial at Arsenal in 2016, however he failed to satisfy the French manager and the club’s staff.

Valverde later went to join Real Madrid, where he rose to become one of the world’s best players in the years that followed.

While Wenger had an eye for talent and spotted several promising players during his managerial career at Arsenal, losing out on Valverde’s potential is seen as a big missed opportunity, given the midfielder’s subsequent success at Real Madrid.

Valverde has established himself as a global superstar and one of the world’s top midfielders. We can only fathom how much of an influence he could have had on our team had he signed with us.

However, now is not the time to let that bother us, as we have also groomed some fine players.
