How Arteta humiliated Rice with a first-day icebreaker
Declan Rice has confessed that Mikel Arteta handed him an icebreaker task on his first day at Arsenal, which embarrassed the midfielder.
Declan Rice appears to have swiftly won a place in the hearts of Arsenal fans following his goal against Manchester United before to the international break.
It can take some time to get used to a new club, but Rice revealed on the Tubes & Ange Golf Life YouTube channel that Arteta had a sneaky way of speeding things up.
“I was a bit nervous,” Rice admitted (via TBR). “The first day I was down there on Sunday, the lads weren’t in, but I came out of the physio room and Arteta put like a sticker on me saying ‘hello, I’m the new person.'”

“He just came in and placed it on my chest.” I’m strolling through the canteen, attempting to hide my chest from the 18s and 21s. Simple things like that.”
Rice had an edge over the ordinary new signing at Arsenal in that he already knew many of the players well.
Rice had previously shared international duty alongside Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, and Ben White, while Eddie Nketiah knew Rice from their England youth days.
Furthermore, Rice has been a Premier League player for several years, so he will be familiar with many of the other players.
