Leroy Sané wants Germany to have a great EURO 2024.
Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané has played for the German men’s national team after his legendary omission from former coach Joachim Löw’s World Cup roster in 2018.
But, like Germany at that tournament and subsequently, Sané has only experienced disappointment.
“It goes without saying that I’m completely dissatisfied with my tournament experiences with the national team thus far,” Sané remarked in a recent kicker interview (caught by @iMiaSanMia). “It took me a long time to recover from these disappointments.” That is why I want to compete in a high-level competition next summer. I’m highly eager and committed to help our squad win the Euros in our home nation.” Leroy Sané wants Germany to have a great EURO 2024.
The summer of 2024 will be crucial for both the athlete and the country. The home turf EURO will be a crucial stage for redemption – or further humiliation – for an unhappy national side that has recently suffered more than its fair share of defeats. Sané, meantime, will enter a contract year at Bayern and, if not extended by then, would face difficult considerations about his future.
