The Blues are presently preparing for their trip to Bournemouth on Sunday, as the Premier League returns this weekend.

Chelsea fans are excited that Benoit Badiashile and Armando Broja, who have both been injured this season, may be on the verge of returning to the pitch.

However, the news this morning does not seem promising in terms of their fitness to face Bournemouth.

Armando Broja were not involved in training with the first-team group on Friday morning.

Badiashile and Broja practised separately from the rest of the group on Friday, according to Gary Cotterill of Sky Sports.

They are thought to be the players on the long injury list who are closest to returning, but Mauricio Pochettino may have to wait a bit longer to deploy them.

In his afternoon pre-match press conference, Chelsea’s head coach should provide some clarity on the players.

“We were hoping to see them (Badiashile and Broja) out there because they’re the nearest of the injured players who are in partial training and potentially ready for a return,” Cotterill said.

“Benoit Badiashile, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. Armando Broja, who has been out for ten months due to a major knee injury. They aren’t out there… I’m informed they’re off doing their own thing. They’ve been doing some training with the rest of the squad.”

During the international break, Badiashile trained at Cobham with Chelsea teammates, according to Chelsea.

The Blues’ 22-year-old centre-back has been a great signing, and his return will be a major boost to the team when it comes.

Meanwhile, Nizaar Kinsella, a writer, recently informed the London Is Blue Podcast that Broja is “very close” to returning from injury.

Once completely fit and blazing again, we expect the 22-year-old striker to put heavy pressure on Nicolas Jackson for a starting spot.
