Despite Newcastle‘s defeat, Sheffield United are not planning to fire Paul Heckingbottom.

Sheffield United have no immediate intentions to fire Paul Heckingbottom following the club’s biggest league defeat, an 8-0 loss to Newcastle.

Despite Newcastle's defeat, Sheffield United are not planning to fire Paul Heckingbottom.

The Blades were thrashed by a rampaging Newcastle to go six games without a win in their Premier League debut, but Heckingbottom’s job is presently secure, according to the PA news agency.

Former manager Chris Wilder has been linked to a return to Bramall Lane, but even this humiliating defeat will not change the board’s mind.

Newcastle had eight different goalscorers at Bramall Lane.

When asked if he will be the manager for the following game, he replied, “Yes, 100 percent.”

“From the looks of it, this could be a theme now.” I can’t answer any of those questions; the game, the players, my department, no issue; but questions like that, you’re asking the wrong man.”

Heckingbottom, who led the team to promotion last season, has had a rough few days in the aftermath of the loss of women’s player Maddy Cusack earlier this week.

The midfielder, who also worked in the club’s marketing department, was only 27 years old, and the team was “devastated.”

And the boss says that he will be relieved to see the end of a terrible week.

There were heartfelt pre-game tributes to Cusack, and Heckingbottom noted, “It has affected a lot of people, there were tears on the pitch before the game.”

“But we were determined to finish what had been a really tough week on a high note, and we weren’t able to do so.” It’s been a difficult week for everyone at the club, and we’re ready for it to be over.”

The Magpies made history by recording their largest away win and became the first Premier League team to have eight different players score in a game.

Eddie Howe’s squad, who had a rocky start to the season, now appear to be clicking and played admirably following their midweek Champions League trip to AC Milan.

They didn’t take their foot off the gas in the second half as they notched up the goals, which pleased the boss the most.

“It’s been a fantastic week for us,” Howe added. That, my friend, is football.

“We knew the importance of the Brentford game before it happened; it was a huge point in the week, and it’s great to see us back to our best today.”

“I never doubted us in the final third because we have some outstanding players and we have had a very difficult start to the season in terms of fixtures, but today we were ruthless and kept looking to score, which is the most important thing.”

“We respect Sheffield United and Paul Heckingbottom’s work here, but we just had to do our thing and keep pushing and scoring goals.”

“We weren’t aware of anything regarding the records during the game.” We were just trying to keep pushing the guys to keep scoring goals and have the mindset and desire that we want in every game.

“When people come to watch us play, we want to attack well, entertain them, and provide good value.” One of our guiding principles is that we are continuously looking to score.

“Results like this can happen with top-quality players, but they happen very rarely, which is why we will enjoy it tonight.”

“You hope this ignites something in us and we try to repeat, not the scoreline, but the performance on a regular basis. That is our aim, but the Premier League is very difficult.”
