Debutant Jaden Philogene, Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot, and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke all scored twice as the Three Lions won their second game in a row.

Lee Carsley’s team is making short work of the fact that only seven players of the squad who won the trophy in Georgia are now available, as the next generation shows there is plenty of promise for the future.

The visitors took an early lead thanks to Aljosa Vasic’s shot from the edge of the box, but it wasn’t long before Hull City’s Philogene equalized with a curling effort.

Liam Delap put Man City ahead after converting Philogene’s close-range cross, before Liverpool’s Elliot increased the lead with a rocket into the top corner from 18 yards.

After the halftime, Chelsea’s Madueke scored twice, first drilling in after dribbling past three players, then putting into the net following Rico Lewis’ backheel.

Delap sprinted ahead of the defence and squared the ball for Philogene to tap into an empty net, before Luka Subotic deflected into his own net.

Norwich’s Jonathan Rowe made it eight when he headed home Elliot’s close-range cross, before the latter finished with a cool finish.

Carsley’s team will meet Ukraine in Slovakia on Monday.
