Chelsea have been dealt a double injury blow as it was revealed that two of their players have suffered injuries.

Positivity has begun to grow within Mauricio Pochettino‘s camp as the injury absentees list has shrunk in recent weeks, coinciding with their three-game winning streak in all competitions.

They have remained largely unharmed during the international break ahead of their Premier League match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. Malo Gusto will be reinstated from suspension.

 

Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah, on the other hand, have dealt Pochettino a blow, with the club confirming on Wednesday that the two will be ‘under further examination before starting their rehabilitation’.

 

“Defender Trevoh Chalobah and midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka have both suffered recent setbacks in their bid to return from respective injuries sustained earlier this season,” according to an injury statement.

“The duo will now go under further review before continuing their rehabilitation at Cobham with the club’s medical staff.”

 

Reece James  is also exercising on his own and is a significant question for the Gunners’ visit to the capital this weekend.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are returning to England after serving with Argentina and Ecuador, respectively. Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Levi Colwill all returned to Cobham on Wednesday and are believed to be fit and ready for selection.

Pochettino is expected to provide a comprehensive update on the squad’s availability when he previews the Arsenal match later this week.
