France defeated 10-man Gibraltar 14-0 in a Euro 2024 Group B qualifier on Saturday, with Kylian Mbappe scoring a hat-trick and Warren Zaire-Emery scoring on his debut.
France led 7-0 at halftime, with goals from Marcus Thuram, Zaire-Emery, Mbappe, Jonathan Clauss, Kingsley Coman, and Youssouf Fofana, after taking the lead on a third-minute own goal.

France had already won the group and qualified for the finals, thus manager Didier Deschamps gave 17-year-old Zaire-Emery his debut, becoming him the youngest France player since 1914.

With his goal in the 16th minute, the adolescent became France’s youngest scorer since that date, but he was caught on his ankle by Ethan Santos. The Gibraltar defender was sent off, and Zaire-Emery’s debut was cut short.

With Gibraltar reduced to ten men, France’s largest ever victory, a 10-0 victory over Azerbaijan in 1995, was well within reach.

Adrien Rabiot and Coman’s second reduced the deficit, and Ousmane Dembele made it 10-0 before Mbappe completed his hat-trick, his third a stunning long-range shot after he spotted the goalie off his line.

Substitute Olivier Giroud scored two late goals to finish the demolition job, giving him 56 goals for his country.
