Mason Greenwood has emerged as a target for two La Liga clubs , including Champions League club Real Madrid.

Greenwood is presently on loan at Getafe, where he has four goals and three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.

He scored twice in Getafe’s 12-0 Copa del Rey victory over Tardienta last month, scoring on 15 and 55 minutes before being replaced around the hour mark.

And he also scored in his team’s 2-1 win over Almeria at the weekend, extending Jose Bordalas’ unbeaten run to nine games.

The 21-year-old will leave Manchester United after the club’s internal inquiry into his actions concluded.

Greenwood was suspended by United after being arrested in January 2022 on allegations of rape and assault. He was later charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

The charges were dropped in February, with the CPS noting that ‘a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic possibility of conviction’.

Greenwood’s contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025, with United opting to loan him to Getafe on transfer deadline day.

The 21-year-old made his first appearance for his new club in September, coming off the bench in a 3-2 win over Osasuna.

According to a source, two La Liga clubs have identified Greenwood as a target for next summer.

According to the article, the clubs in issue are Valencia and Real Sociedad, with both purportedly sending scouts to watch the attacker in action.

Sociedad currently leads their Champions League group, having gained 10 points from their four games so far this season.

The same source told The Sun that it is ‘very improbable’ that Greenwood will return to United after his loan spell with Getafe expires.
