Jurgen Klopp has predicts the Premier League title battle with Manchester City.
Due to the tight nature of the current standings, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expects the Premier League title fight to go down to the wire this season.
Following the weekend’s activity, Liverpool, which defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday, leads Manchester City by four points. Tottenham Hotspur, at sixth, is only seven points behind the leaders.
City returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Luton Town on Sunday afternoon, bringing them within three points of Arsenal, who were defeated 1-0 by fellow top-four contenders Aston Villa on Saturday. Villa presently sit third in the table, two points ahead of City and two points behind Liverpool.
Liverpool maintained their lead over Palace in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, coming from behind to earn all three points thanks to a last-gasp winner from Harvey Elliott. With so little separating the top four sides at the moment, Klopp believes it is only natural that a true title race is taking place.
“Usually this time of the year is where City are already 15 points ahead of the other guys who are separated by 10 points,” Klopp was quoted as saying by TNT Sports. “It appears to be a little tighter, a little closer, and rightly so.”

“I have a lot of respect for that, and they are there and will try again, but there are a lot of teams around who have made great progress, and thank God we can be there as well.” And that is obviously critical for us.
“Let’s see where it goes – we all need luck, especially now that the players are going through it and we can use them.” You must be prepared for the moment when decisions are taken, because at the moment, we are just prepared [for] the ending, which is still a long way off, so we have a lot of work to do before we can talk about other things.”
