Soon after the game, Real Madrid confirmed that Alaba had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, necessitating surgery in the coming days.

Carlo Ancelotti declared Alaba’s season was over in his post-match press conference and revealed his early preparations to fill the void left by the tragic injury.

“I haven’t talked to Alaba yet.” He suffered a cruciate ligament damage. It’s a pity, and we’re devastated. He is yet another player who stumbles. It’s never happened to me before to have three crusaders in four months, it’s fantastic,” the manager added.

In Ancelotti’s philosophy right now, Nacho Fernandez is a seasoned alternative, and Rafa Marin might be recalled from loan during the Alaves game.

The 6’2″ defender came to Alaves in July 2023 in quest of regular first-team action, and we have heard that Real Madrid has been impressed with his growth thus far, and he may be able to play in the first team next season.

Given the circumstances, the squad from the Spanish capital may be compelled to recall the 21-year-old next month due to fixture congestion.
