According to a police source, the robbers slapped Letellier’s wife in the face and demanded jewellery and money while threatening the couple with a knife. Letellier is a replacement keeper for Ligue 1 leaders PSG.

Letellier’s two small children were present at the time.

The alarm went off at 2:00 a.m. (0100 GMT) in the house near Hardricourt, west of Paris, and the couple attempted to notify police by phone.

“The alarm worked perfectly well, and police as well as the club’s security service intervened quickly,” a source close to the situation claimed.

Prosecutors claimed three of the four were arrested. Two of the group’s members are minors.

In recent years, celebrity players have been targeted by burglars multiple times.

PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was injured slightly during a burglary in July, with goods stolen valued at 500,000 euros ($550,000).

“Unfortunately, all big clubs are targets for these kinds of attacks,” claimed a PSG source who declined to be identified, adding, “Every criminal who has ever attacked PSG players has been apprehended.”
