Barcelona returned to winning ways on Wednesday, defeating Almeria 3-2 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. The Catalans had twice taken the lead thanks to Raphinha and Sergio Roberto, but were beaten both times. Roberto’s late strike, however, was enough to secure the three points.
Barcelona had multiple chances to score more goals, but it was their defensive performance that enraged head coach Xavi Hernandez, who regretted blunders by Ronald Araujo and Inaki Pena that led to Almeria’s two equalisers, according to Marca.

Xavi was particularly pleased with the matchwinner, Roberto.

Barcelona will enter the winter break with some satisfaction, albeit Xavi and his staff still have a lot of work to do before their next competitive match, which is against Las Palmas on January 4th.
