Tom Lockyer Lupton Town captain has been discharged from the hospital following a cardiac arrest and fitted with an ICD device.

Captain Tom Lockyer was released from hospital on Wednesday, according to Luton Town. The 29-year-old defender underwent a treatment to prevent a repeat of the heart arrest he sustained on Saturday during a Premier League match against Bournemouth. Lockyer was supplied with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator device and is presently undergoing therapy.

Luton Town skipper Tom Lockyer has been released from hospital after having a heart episode on Saturday.
The defender went into cardiac arrest during his team’s game against Bournemouth, and the rest of the game was called off.
According to his club’s official website, the 29-year-old was fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator on Tuesday and was released from the hospital the next day.

In a statement, they said: “We are thankful to report that our captain Tom Lockyer has now begun a period of rehabilitation from the comfort of his own home after he was discharged from hospital on Wednesday.”This hopeful news comes after a successful treatment on Tuesday in which Tom had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) device implanted to avoid a recurrence of Saturday’s occurrence.

 

“The Club, Tom, and the Lockyer family would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Bournemouth, including their fans, club officials, and especially their medical staff and midfielder Philip Billing, who was the first to reach Tom on the pitch and summon help.”

“Supported by the actions of Bournemouth’s medical team and local paramedics, it was ultimately the protocols instilled and professional actions of our own medical staff that gave Tom this chance to recover and to whom we are thankful.”Naturally, the events of last weekend startled and stunned everyone who witnessed them. The Club is working with Sporting Chance and the Premier League to provide assistance for individuals who may have been affected by the grief.

The score was 1-1 when the match was called off after 59 minutes, and the Premier League has stated that the game will be replayed in full at a later date.
