According to reports, Steven Gerrard has identified Malang Sarr as the answer to the team’s defensive difficulties and is pursuing the Frenchman this winter.

Ettifaq’s current defence line includes of Jack Hendry and Marcel Tisserand, however it doesn’t appear to be working since the club is currently tenth in the league.

Sarr joined Chelsea from OGC Nice in 2020, but spent two seasons on loan at FC Porto and Monaco, appearing in just 21 games at Stamford Bridge since then.

Since returning from his loan spell at Monaco last season, Sarr didn’t make any matchday squad for Chelsea and his future at the club seems uncertain.

He is contracted to Chelsea until 2025, but the club is open for him to leave either on loan or permanently this month.
