Mauricio Pochettino made a major blunder in his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s second-leg Carabao Cup semi-final encounter against Middlesborough.
Middlesbrough take a one-goal advantage over Chelsea to Stamford Bridge for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
Hayden Hackney’s first-half goal for the Championship side placed Michael Carrick’s men ahead, and Chelsea missed many important chances to tie the game.
“Caicedo was telling me his Brighton lost there last season,” Pochettino remarked, reflecting on the 1-0 defeat ahead of the second leg next week.

Unfortunately, it appears that Pochettino was given incorrect information.
