Tyson expressed a feeling of 100% after experiencing a plane health scare.

Amidst a recent health scare, Mike Tyson declared on Tuesday that he felt “100%” in anticipation of his July fight against YouTuber Jake Paul.

The 57-year-old former heavyweight champion of the world apparently required medical attention on Sunday after claiming to have had nausea and vertigo while travelling from Miami to Los Angeles.

Before the rest of the passengers on the American Airlines flight were let to disembark, paramedics arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to tend to the boxing great.

The event occurred just before Tyson’s contentious comeback to the ring versus Paul in Texas on July 20, sparking concerns that the fighter who was formerly dubbed the “baddest man on the planet” might suffer an injury from his advanced age.

Despite Sunday’s scare, Tyson said on Tuesday that he felt good.

“I don’t need to be 100% to beat Jake Paul, but I am feeling 100% right now,” Tyson stated in a brief message on X, which was previously Twitter.

The professional fight between Tyson, who turns 58 in June, and Paul, who is 27 years old, will last eight rounds of two minutes each. Texas boxing regulators have approved the contest.

Tyson has not fought a professional bout since 2005, although he did take on Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition contest in 2020.
