Team USA Gymnastics has begun its nationwide mega tour at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California. Led by seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, members of the 2024 Paris gymnastics teams, both men’s and women’s, have reunited to bring gymnastics to audiences across 38 shows in 32 cities. This tour, known as the Gold Over America Tour, offers fans a chance to see their favorite gymnasts up close and even purchase exclusive merchandise.
Simone Biles is at the forefront of the tour, and on the first day, she wore a special airline pilot-themed leotard, setting a unique tone for the event. Unlike regular gymnastics competitions, this tour celebrates the sport with creativity and flair. Biles and her teammates dressed in custom-made leotards featuring elements of a pilot’s uniform, including printed pockets, a belt, a tie, and a shirt collar. Biles’s outfit even included a badge reading “Captain Biles,” emphasizing her central role in the event.
Although these themed leotards are not currently available for purchase, GK Elite, the prestigious gymnastics apparel manufacturer, has released two other designs inspired by the tour. The “Simone Biles Commemorative GOAT Tour Workout Leotard” features pink, gold, and off-white stars on a black base, with a goat logo at its center. Originally priced at $59.99, it is now on sale for $29.98 on GK Elite’s online store. Another available design is the “2024 Gold Over America Tour Commemorative Leotard,” showcasing a gold and white polka dot pattern on a black background, priced at $69.99. Both leotards incorporate GK Elite’s ‘hologram spanglez,’ adding a shimmering effect under the spotlight.
In addition to these tour-specific leotards, GK Elite is also responsible for the competition outfits worn by Team USA in Paris. Collaborating with jewelry designer Swarovski, they created stunning leotards for gymnasts like Biles, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Sunisa Lee, and Hezly Rivera. While the leotards on sale do not include the thousands of Swarovski crystals seen in the Paris competition, they are identical replicas of designs such as “Go for Glory,” “Star Spangled Shine,” “Luminous Legacy,” and “Freedom’s Grace.” These premium replicas, celebrating Team USA’s Paris Olympics campaign, are priced at $89.99 each. The originals, featuring Swarovski crystals, cost a staggering $3,000.
Currently, GK Elite offers only two leotards specifically themed around the Gold Over America Tour. However, there is speculation that the airline pilot-themed leotards might be part of a broader collection yet to be released. With the tour ongoing, fans may soon find out if more exclusive designs are on the way.
