The WNBA and the Indiana Fever are experiencing a groundbreaking year. While conversations about the league often turn to Caitlin Clark, this time it’s Kelsey Mitchell who is taking center stage. For Fever fans, the situation is both amusing and a bit concerning.

As the WNBA enters the postseason, the Fever are gearing up for their first playoff appearance since 2017. With all the attention that Clark has brought to the team, some nerves seem to be showing, particularly for Mitchell. To help calm her nerves and gain some playoff insights, the 28-year-old reached out to a close friend, NBA player D’Angelo Russell.

Mitchell discussed her conversation with Russell, explaining, “I recently talked to my close friend D’Angelo Russell. We go way back. Me and him go back to the point where we trained together at Ohio State. We kind of know each other so, from that perspective, it was good to get a conversation in regards to how [the playoffs] looked.” This connection provided her with some valuable advice on managing the pressures of the playoffs.
